Samsung has finally announced the availability of its Galaxy Camera in India. The 16.3 Megapixel camera bearing Samsung Galaxy Camera is a full-fledged camera but comes with Android mobile operating system. It is priced at Rs 29,900 and buyers can also get 1 GB 3G data for free for two months from Airtel.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera is basically a marriage of a digital camera with a smartphone. Though it doesn’t offer calling functionality but it has everything that a mobile phone should have like a large screen, 3G and WiFi connectivity.
The new Samsung Galaxy Camera GC100 features a 4.8-inch Super Clear touch display with 1280×720 pixel Resolution to see the preview of the photos. The screen has been made using the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 technology for providing more strength and resistance from the usual scratches.
Samsung Galaxy Camera has a 16.3 megapixel image sensor with Xenon Flash and auto focus. This camera has a 23mm lens and it supports smile as well as face detection. It offers 21x super long zoom and has a feature to record slow motion videos as well.
Samsung has packed a quad-core 1.4 GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 mobile Processor with Mali-400MP graphics chip. This Galaxy Camera is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system and has 1 GB RAM to ensure it runs smoothly.
This Galaxy Camera offers image stabilisation and most importantly support for WiFi and 3G networks to upload the captured images directly to the web. You can always sync the images to your Cloud Storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox.
Galaxy Camera packs 1650 mAh battery that offers battery life of 4.5 hours which could be an issue. We so wish Samsung had added at least 2100 mAh battery to this novel gadget. However, this gadget is a great combination of the powerful digital camera with internet support along with fancy mobile operating system.
