Samsung is working on a new mid-range smartphone with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich that is codenamed it as Jasper. As per the device’s listing at GLBenchmark website, Samsung Jasper is most likely to be launched on the Verizon Wireless network in the USA.
Samsung Jasper seems to be a mid-range device with a 480 x 800 Pixel screen. By default this smartphone will come with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update.
The interesting part is that Samsung Jasper will feature a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 mobile processor. The listing did not carry details about the smartphone except about its processor, model name, Processor speed, and screen resolution.
Samsung Jasper appears to be the successor of the Galaxy S Advance.
As of now, the estimated arrival of Samsung Jasper seems a bit flaky. Recently, Qualcomm stated the high demand of the Snapdragon S4 processor and the inability of the manufacturer to produce the chip in large numbers in a short span of time.
We can only hope for more Snapdragon S4 processor devices to be released this year.
