Samsung India to offer returns for Note 7 bought from somewhere else

Samsung never launched Note 7 in India but a lot of people brought the device from international markets.

As you must be aware now, Samsung recently discontinued Galaxy Note 7 following the whole explosion chapter. However, post this decision, Note 7 users were asked to return their device to get the refund. For this, Samsung sent thermal insulated boxes which are not to be shipped via Air.

As Samsung never launched the Galaxy Note 7 in India, what if you are one of those who bought your Note 7 from some other country and is now residing in India? Do you need to go to the country you bought your Note 7 in order to get the refund?

Thankfully, Samsung India has confirmed that it will refund consumers who bought the Note 7 outside India. But, they will have to initiate this process before November 1 so there’s not much time left.

“Consumers who have purchased Galaxy Note 7 from overseas are eligible for refund. They need to bring the invoice to the nearest service centre and get a refund basis the invoice value. The validity of the same is November 1 2016,” said Samsung’s spokesperson, as reported by Gadgets 360

Further, people who pre-ordered the Note 7 in India have already been refunded or they are given an option to buy Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 with a basket of freebies.

Samsung tried hard to save the Note 7 after it first recalled the device back in August 2016 but soon the reports of replaced Note 7 exploded started piling up which to Samsung completely wrapping off the device from the market. Further, it is rumoured that Samsung reportedly incurred a loss of $2.4 billion which immediately reflected on company’s share price.

As of now, the nearest to the Note 7 is Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge but of course you will loose the functionality and bunch of other features.

Nevertheless, if you happen to own a Note 7 in India which you apparently bought from some other country, we would recommend you get connected with Samsung India and initiate the return and refund process as soon as possible.
