Samsung has quietly launched a Value Edition variant of the Galaxy Xcover 3 which was launched last year. Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition is a rugged and Water-resistant smartphone which runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box instead of the old Android 4.4 KitKat that its previous version had. The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition is now available for sale on a third-party online retailer in the Netherlands at EUR 228 (approximately Rs 17,000).
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition has a 4.5-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 652 Processor and 1.5 GB RAM. The Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition offers 8GB of internal storage and an expandable memory via micro SD card. The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and is backed by a 2,000 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition has a 5-megapixel camera supporting underwater shooting mode and a 8-megapixel camera is in its front. The device measures 132 x 70.1 x 10 mm and weighs 154 grams. Connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and a micro USB port. The handset is IP67 and MIL-STD 810G-certified for its water resistant capabilities.
However, there is no information about its release in other markets including India.
