As we near the launch of the Galaxy Note set for August 7, it appears that Samsung is working on yet another device – the Galaxy Tab S6 tablet for launch alongside its flagship smartphone. The existence of the Galaxy Tab S6 means Samsung is skipping Tab S5 moniker for its upcoming high-end tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S6 now looks to be the direct successor to the Galaxy Tab S4 which was unveiled last October for a price of Rs 57,900 with S Pen and DeX support. According to the images shared by Android Headlines, the Tab S6 has a similar design to the Galaxy Tab S5e and will launch with a keyboard accessory available separately.
There are a few key differences between the two devices. The Tab S6, firstly, comes with a resigned back which now has a slot or a groove to hold the included S Pen. The report details that this slot will allow the S Pen to be charged wirelessly through the tablet.
Speaking of the S Pen, the stylus has been redesigned with a new cap and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s a button on the S Pen which is expected to add different functionalities.
As for the specifications, the Galaxy Tab S6 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The tablet is expected to feature a 10.5-inch display and will run Android 9 Pie.
Another interesting thing to absorb from the device renders is the presence of dual rear cameras on the Galaxy Tab S6. The setup is said to consist of a main 13MP sensor and a 5MP Wide-Angle lens which are positioned to the top left part of the backside, above the S Pen groove.
Additionally, the tablet is expected to come with four speakers – two at the top and two on the bottom, all tuned by AKG as is evident from the AKG branding on the back. There will be a USB Type-C port at the bottom while Samsung ditches the Headphone jack from its upcoming tablet. The Tab S6 will come in WiFi-only and LTE models.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is likely to launch alongside the Galaxy Note 10 series on August 7. The tablet will come in three colours – Blue, Grey and Pink.
