Samsung has announced its new flagship tablet, called as Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. The new flagship tablet will come in two screen sizes – 9.7 inch and 8 inch. It will be released in August this year.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (9.7) has a Super AMOLED Display which comes with 2048×1536 pixels resolution. It will come with Android 5.0 aka Lollipop operating system and is powered by an octa core processor. There will be 3 GB of RAM in the tablet which will be released in 64 GB and 32 GB internal storage variants. Both the versions will also have an expandable storage slot that can carry a micro SD card of up to 128 GB.
The Tab S2 (9.7) has an 8 Megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. For connectivity, it offers WiFi, WiFi Direct and Bluetooth 4.1. The Tab S2 (9.7), which measures 169 x 237.3 x 5.6mm, has a 5,870 mAh battery. It will also come in WiFi and LTE versions.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (8 inch) also offers a Super AMOLED display with the same. 2048×1536 pixels resolution. Infact, it has the same features as the 9.7 inch version except the smaller screen and battery – a 4000 mAh unit. The 8 inch version measures 134.8 x 198.6 x 5.6mm.
Interestingly, the predecessor of S2, the Tab S, too had similar specs but with a bigger display (10.5 inch) and a much bigger battery (7900 mAh).
