Samsung is reported of working on a new tablet line-up named – Galaxy Tab S. Images of the purported Galaxy Tab S recently surfaced online. EVLeaks has now shared the details about the hardware used to power the Galaxy Tab S which would be launched in two different models – 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch. Both models will run either on Qualcomm’s quad-core or Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa mobile chipset solution. As per the report, Samsung has powered both tablets with the new Magazine UX layered on top of the Android 4.4 KitKat version.
Samsung is expected to introduce yet another line-up of Android based tablets to be branded under the Galaxy Tab S name. Imitating something similar to what Sony Xperia Tablet Z does, the new Galaxy Tab S will pack top of the line hardware and features. Samsung plans to introduce 8.4-inch model and a 10.5-inch model soon.
The Galaxy Tab S in two different screen sizes 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch bearing the same Resolution 2560×1600 pixel resolution. Both tablets will be offered in several variants. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch will sport either quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 mobile chipset or octa-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa mobile chipset options. Samsung has placed 8 Megapixel camera at the rear with LED Flash and 2.1 megapixel camera in the front.
EVLeaks further stated that both models will be offered in WiFi only version which makes 8.4-inch model weigh around 294 grams while the 10.5-inch model will weigh about 465 grams. Meanwhile, the WiFi+LTE variants of the 8.4-inch tablet model will make it weigh about 298 grams and 10.5-inch model to weigh about 467 grams.
As per the report, both tablets will pack 3 GB RAM and feature 16 GB or 32 GB on-board storage options with memory slot to hold up to 128 grams.
Both tablets are mere 6.6 mm thick. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch model packs 4900 mAh battery inside while the 10.5-inch model packs 7900 mAh battery inside.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S models at the Galaxy Premiere 2014 that is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
