Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch, 10.5-inch with Super AMOLED display launched

Samsung has unveiled the new Galaxy Tab S with Super AMOLED display featuring 8.4-inch model priced at Rs 37,800 and 10.5-inch model at Rs 44,800 for Indian market.

Samsung has formally introduced its new lineup of tablets – Galaxy Tab S with lage displays. The mind new line of Galaxy Tab S arrives in two different models – 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch. Both models will run either on Qualcomm’s quad-core or Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa mobile solution. As per the report, Samsung has powered both tablets with the new Magazine UX layered on top of the 4.4 KitKat version. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch is priced starting Rs 37, 800 and 10.5-inch priced starting Rs 44,800. Samsung will start pre-booking from today till 11 July to offer free book cover only for the customers opting for pre-booking at Samsung India E-Store and specific Preview outlets in India.

Samsung has introduced yet another line-up of Android based tablets to be branded under the Galaxy Tab S name. Imitating something similar to what Sony Xperia Tablet Z does, the new Galaxy Tab S will pack top of the line hardware and features. Samsung Galaxy Tab S line-up includes 8.4-inch model and a 10.5-inch model.

The Galaxy Tab S in two different Super AMOLED screen sizes 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch bearing the same 2560×1600 pixel resolution. Both tablets will be offered in several variants. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch will sport octa-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa mobile chipset. Both tablets will pack 3 RAM and feature 16 GB or 32 GB on-board storage options with memory slot to hold up to 128 GB.

Samsung has placed 8 megapixel camera at the rear with Flash and 2.1 megapixel camera in the front. Initially, Samsung will offer both models in WiFi+3G versions. Both tablets are mere 6.6 mm thick. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch model packs 4900 battery inside while the 10.5-inch model packs 7900 mAh battery inside.

Meanwhile, the WiFi+LTE variants of the 8.4-inch tablet model will make it weigh about 298 grams and 10.5-inch model to weigh about 467 grams. The Wi-Fi+LTE variants will be introduced later. The variants support FDD-LTE standard and will not be supported by Airtel or Reliance Jio offered 4G LTE services.

Samsung has enabled support in both 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch models. As part of the introductory offer, the Reliance GSM mobile subscribers will be able to enjoy 9 GB free data for three months. Also the users get free access to Reliance’s BigFlix digital movies service.
