Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 launched in India: Specs, Availability

Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in India, an Apple AirTag competitor for users. The SmartTag2 comes with better durability and new features over its predecessor. It also gets Ultra-wideband (UWB) support for enhanced tracking.

Galaxy SmartTag2 is available in two colours in India – Black and White. Priced at Rs 2,799, Galaxy SmartTag2 can be purchased from Samsung Online Store, Samsung Exclusive Stores and Amazon.in.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2: Features

Galaxy SmartTag2 comes with an improved Compass View feature that provides intuitive visual cues for directions. This feature elevates user experience by providing arrows to show the direction and distance of Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. It not only keeps the valuables located but also helps control various devices with just a click. This mode is available on any Ultra Wide (UWB) supported Galaxy smartphone such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5 and more.

It further touts a Lost Mode feature as safety net for lost possessions. This feature uses display of the device to register the user’s contact information via a message. With this, anyone who discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached can use his or her smartphone to scan the tag and see the owner’s message and contact information.

In addition, Galaxy SmartTag2 comes with the new Power Saving mode, available alongside an improved Normal mode. With Power Saving mode, Galaxy SmartTag2’s battery now lasts up to 700 days, more than twice as compared to the previous Galaxy SmartTag models. Even in Normal mode, battery life is now extended to 500 days, a 50% increase over the previous models.

Galaxy SmartTag2 durability has also been improved, with it now sporting an rating for water and dust resistance. This enables users to track their items in even more challenging environments, such as when travelling outdoors.
