Samsung has today announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphones, theGalaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India. Both the smartphones will be available from March 16 and both of them comes inMidnight Black, Lilac Purple, and Titanium Gray colour options. Customers can pre-book the device at select retail stores, Samsung’s official website and on Flipkart and Airtel Online Stores.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 with 64GB storage option is priced at Rs 57,900, while the 256GB option comes with a price tag of Rs 65,900. The Galaxy S9+ is priced at Rs 64,900 for the 64GB storage variant, while the 256GB option is available at a price of Rs 72,900. Samsung has also introduced a host of offers with the Galaxy S9 duo. To start with, customers can pre-book the smartphones from Airtel Online stores. Users need to make a downpayment of Rs 9,900 and then users need to opt for a Rs 2,499 monthly plan for 24 months for the latest flagship device. Users will get 2TB of 4G data as well.
Reliance Jio users can avail 1TB of data with an annual plan of Rs 4,999. Further, Vodafone customers will get a free one-year subscription of Netflix on select postpaid plans. Other than this, Paytm users will get a cashback of Rs 6,000 on the purchase of Galaxy S9 duo. HDFC Bank is also offering Rs 6,000 cashback for both the smartphones. Furthermore, Samsung has partnered with Airtel and Reliance Jio to provide 4G LTE Carrier Aggregation on both the networks in select cities that promises up to 250Mbps download speeds.
If we look at the specs of S9, it will have a 5.8-inch display while the S9+ on the other hand, offers a 6.2-inch screen. Both have Android Oreo operating system and will come with Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC in India. This Processor is based on 10nm process and features four cores clocked at 1.9GHz, while four high-performance cores are clocked at 2.9GHz.
The Galaxy S9 features a 4GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S9+ is equipped with 6GB of RAM. The phones will be available in 64GB/128GB/256GB storage options, which can be further expanded up to 400GB via micro SD card slot.
The S9 features a 12-megapixel sensor with the variable Aperture so that users will be able to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures. The Galaxy S9+ features a dual-camera setup at the rear with a combination of two 12-megapixel sensors with one of them featuring variable aperture as mentioned above along with a secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both the sensors present in Galaxy S9+ and single rear camera in Galaxy S9 feature optical image stabilization (OIS) and both of them come loaded with laser and Dual Pixel autofocus. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture.
