Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 has been one of the most talked about smartphones since past one month. From alleged specifications to possible final render, everything has been out from somewhere or the other. Interestingly, the smartphone has now been spotted in a Samsung Display promo video.
As per the video, the smartphone has a bezel-less design and a relatively thinner top and bottom chin as well which is in line with the previous reports about Samsung’s choice of design language for the Galaxy S8. The video doesn’t reveal the back or sides of the device so we are not sure about the camera setup the device will be boasting at the back.
Recollecting the previous rumours, the Galaxy S8 is likely to come with a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560x1440p) display while the S8 EDGE is expected to come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display. Further, the South Korean giant is also expected to introduce a new Plus variant for S8 with a huge 6.2-inch display. The displays on all the variants are expected to Super AMOLED and the Edge variant might sport a 4K display as well, although, in our opinion, it will hardly make any difference if seen with the naked eye. Going inside, the upcoming flagship from Samsung is expected to come with the Snapdragon 835 chipset with 8GB of RAM, optical fingerprint sensor embedded in the display, a 90 percent body-to-screen ratio, Bluetooth 5.0 and a UFS 2.1 flash storage chip. Similar to Apple and HTC, the company is also expected to skip the 3.5mm Headphone jack.
Apart from this, the next device from the S series is also tipped to come with a dual-camera set-up for the Plus variant. The Megapixel count for the same is not out yet but we would put our money on a 12 or 13-megapixel dual camera set up. Keeping this aside, Samsung is also reportedly working on its own AI-based voice assistance named Bixby. With the new AI-based assistant, the company would be head-to-head with the likes of Apple, Google etc.
Meanwhile, the company is expected to launch the flagship device in April. As spotted by Sammobile, if the latest report coming from South Korea claims that Samsung might unveil the device on April 18. This is in line with another rumour that describes that the company has set an initial production target of 10 million units for the upcoming device, which will start in March.
