As we are heading towards the launch of the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8, rumours mills are working non-stop to give an insight of the upcoming devices. Though we are also hearing that the company will also unveil the Galaxy S8 Plus model for a while now, latest rumours suggest that the Plus model will outsell the Galaxy S8.
As spotted by Sammobile, some industry sources close to the development has revealed that the South Korean giant will be producing more Galaxy S8 Plus units as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S8. The report further adds that the company has taken this decision because it believes that consumers will opt for the Plus in ‘far greater numbers than the smaller Galaxy S8’. This makes sense, as the Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE was favoured more as compared to the standard version with several estimates showing that almost 70 per cent of all Galaxy S7 sales were accounted by the Edge variant.

In a related news, new case renders for the upcoming devices confirms that the fingerprint sensor will be placed along with a rear camera. A Weibo post shows two cases that are made for the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. The cases have a cutout for a rear camera and a fingerprint sensor at the back, which is in line with a previously leaked image of the phone released by famous tipster Evan Blass.
As for the specifications are concerned, the next-gen Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two variants, a 5.8-inch and a 6.2-inch variant both of which will sport a QHD Super AMOLED Display coming in with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. On the hardware front, the devices are expected to pack in either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC or it’s own home-grown Exynos chip.
Interestingly, the device is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, while it is reported that the China and Korean market will get a 6GB RAM and an option to choose between 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. A leak also claims that the former will come with a price tag of CNY 6,088 (approx. Rs 59,606) and the latter will be priced at CNY 6,488 (about Rs 63,523).
For the optics, both the variants will come with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/1.7 Aperture and 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera is said to come with a bunch of new features including the recently rumoured visual search capability. For the battery, the 5.8-inch variant is likely to come with 3000 mAh battery while the 6.2-inch variant will house a 3500 mAh battery. Contrary to previous rumours, the Galaxy S8 will come with a 3.5mm Headphone jack.
