Samsung has today announced the launch of a new Orchid Gray colour variant of its flagship devices, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The new colour variant of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be offered to consumers at Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 and will be available for pre-order from July 5 to 11, 2017 on Flipkart and Samsung Shop. They would be available at select stores from July 12 onwards.
Further, users will also get a free Convertible Wireless Charger worth Rs 4,499 and Rs 3,000 cashback on HDFC credit card on the purchase of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. With the launch of this colour, Galaxy S8 will be available in Midnight Black, Maple Gold and Orchid Gray, while Galaxy S8+ will be available in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Coral Blue and Orchid Gray colour options.
To recollect some key specifications, Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2960 x 1440 pixels) Infinity display which is curved on both sides while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad-HD display. Both the handsets boast a strange display aspect ratio of 18:9. The Indian variant of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ is likely to come with Exynos 8895 Chipset which is an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. This is because Samsung sells the Qualcomm variant of its flagship in select regions only. Apart from this, the device packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology and Aperture f/1.7 and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart Autofocus and aperture f/1.7.MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera.
Both of them runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and the smaller sibling is powered by a 3000mAh battery, while the Plus model boasts 3500mAh battery with fast charging on wired and wireless. On the connectivity front, both the devices support Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS and 4G LTE. The Samsung Galaxy S8 measures 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm and weighs 155g, while the Galaxy S8+ measures 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm and 173g.
