Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy S4 Zoom digital camera boasting of 10x Optical Zoom. The new Galaxy S4 Zoom digital camera features a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a dual-core mobile processor. Sporting a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy S4 Zoom bears a physical design similar to the Galaxy S4 Mini. Samsung has not share information about the pricing and expected availability of this digital camera.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Display with qHD (960×540) pixel resolution natively. This display has been constructed using the Corning Gorilla Glassy 3 technology for thinner and stronger display with resistance from scratches. Weighing about 208 grams, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz mobile processor with 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB on-board storage. Indeed, there is a memory card slot to accommodate up to 64 GB micro SD card.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom features a 16 megapixel back-side illumination CMOS sensor to offer 10x optical zoom and packs a Xenon Flash on the body. The Optical Image Stabiliser promises good still shots even if you shake the camera while taking one. Samsung has also packed bunch of photography friendly features such as the Smart Mode. There is a new Photo Suggest feature that connects the user to large libraries of images taken by other photographers.
The 16 megapixel camera features ISO settings ranging from 100 to 3200 and continuous shot at 4 frames per second with auto-focus. The camera is capable of recording full 1080p HD videos. There is also a 1.9 megapixel camera in the front.
Samsung has packed the Samsung Hub and other Samsung-only software packages to make the digital camera more interactive. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Near Field Communication built-in, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support, and a 2330 mAh battery.
By default, the Galaxy S4 Zoom runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a layer of TouchWiz’s NatureUX on it. The camera supports playback for variety of audio-video format and above all – it also supports 3G/HSPA+ and 4G LTE networks as well.
