Korean smartphone giant, Samsung has priced the 16 GB version of its newly launched Galaxy S4 at Rs 32,000 in the US market which is couple of thousand bucks less than the Apple iPhone 5 which is available there for around Rs 35,000.
However, Samsung US has now deleted the pricing information from its website, prompting many to believe that it was perhaps the promotional pricing for a lucky few buyers and that the device may cost some bucks more when it is made available in the market again. In India, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is likely to cost more than Rs 40,000.
Samsung Galaxy S4 comes in two versions – one with an eight-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5410 mobile Processor clocked at 1.6 GHz and the other with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor clocked at 1.9 GHz. The smartphone has 2 GB RAM and comes in three options in terms of internal storage – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 13 Megapixel camera at the back and brings several new features with the latest version of TouchWiz UI dubbed as Nature UX. The Galaxy S4 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and features a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED Display which has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating that expected to provide protection to the touchscreen from normal wear and tear.
The Galaxy S4 is just 7.9 mm thick and still slim than the 8.6 thickness bearing Galaxy S III. Also it weighs just 130 grams as compared to the Galaxy S III that has 133 grams weight.
At the back, Samsung has used a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash, Autofocus and zero shutter lag. This camera is capable of recording full HD videos and can click high quality images. There is also a front facing camera which, as per Samsung, can click high quality self-portrait images and can be used for video chatting. Samsung has introduce the new dual shot features that allows the phone to record video and click images as well as click two images at the same time using both cameras.
Samsung has packed a 2600 mAh battery in the Galaxy S4 and will also offer extra battery kit as part of accessories. By default, the company has added the inductive charging chip on the back panel cover so the phone can be charged wirelessly without using additional cover.
