Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to receive Android Oreo update from March 30, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge by April

The company could release the Android Oreo update for Galaxy Note 8 from March 30.

Samsung has recently rolled out the 8.0 Oreo update for its last year’s flagship devices, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Now, it seems that the brand is preparing to roll out the Oreo update for the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

According to a report by SamMobile, the company could release the Android Oreo update for Galaxy Note 8 from March 30. The information came from Güncelmiyiz, which is a website owned and operated by Samsung Turkey. The site gives details about the upcoming firmware updates for Samsung smartphones. Interestingly, the site reveals that the Galaxy Note 8 is scheduled to receive the next major operating system and the firmware is currently in testing phase.

Furthermore, the website also reveals that the company will release the Android Oreo update to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 on April 13. The firmware update is currently under testing phase. Similarly, Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 (2017) are listed to receive the Oreo update on May 25 this year. The 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S3 is also scheduled to receive the Oreo update on May 4.

After the Oreo update, the smartphones will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.
