Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship device, the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23, 2017, according to a report by The Bell. The company was earlier reported to launch the upcoming smartphone at an Unpacked event in New York on August 26, just ahead of IFA Berlin 2017.
The report further adds that the phablet was scheduled to be released in September, however, it seems that the company is planning to start the phone sales early. One reason could be the delayed release of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which is facing supply issues. The company is planning to grab this opportunity to boost its Note 8 sales it seems. Interestingly, it is also reported that the Galaxy Note 8 will finally take the leverage of the dual-camera setup and the recent renders have hinted in this direction only.
Recollecting some previous rumours, the smartphone is reported to come in 64GB and 128GB of storage variants. According to a report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also come with an option expand storage up to 256GB via micro SD card slot.
The report further mentions that the smartphone could be priced at $1000 in the home country, which roughly translates to Rs 64,695. In other markets like the US and Europe, the Galaxy Note 8 will be priced at $1,100 (approx. Rs 71,165). If the pricing is believed to be true, then it will be Samsung’s most expensive smartphone ever.
Previously, some key specifications of the upcoming phablet were leaked online. According to a post on Weibo, the upcoming phablet will sport a 6.3-inch 2K+ Super AMOLED Display and it will maintain a similar aspect ratio of 18:5:9 as we have seen in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
