Samsung has rolled out new Over the Air (OTA) update for its Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphone in India. The OTA update brings new value added features and update, but the key update being Pay Mini support in the device. Samsung Pay Mini service is essentially a stripped-down version of the Samsung Pay.
Samsung had announced Samsung Pay Mini with the Galaxy J7 Max smartphone which was launched last month in India. The Pay Mini will work on all Android smartphones sporting an HD display, and those who run on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and above. The update for the Galaxy J7 (2016) carries firmware version J710FXXU3AQF6 and has 136 MB in size and includes the June 2017 security patch, various bug fixes, tweaks, and improvements. The Samsung Pay Mini supports third-party wallets and India’s national money transfer service UPI.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphone was launched in India last year in Gold, Black and White colour variants. To brief out the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.6 GHz octa-core Processor with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 128GB via a micro SD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and packs in a 3,300 mAh battery.
The Galaxy J7 (2016) has a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. This dual SIM smartphone also offers 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, WiFi, NFC Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB 2.0 port. The J7 measures 151.7 x 75.9 x 7.8 mm and weighs 170 grams.
