Samsung has finally launched its first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in India. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, the phone will be initially available in India and Malaysia starting from August 24th and it will expand to additional markets in the near future. However, the company has not revealed the price of the mobile.
Like we said, this is the first smartphone from Samsung that comes with Android Oreo (Go Edition). For the unintended, Android Go programme was introduced by Google that comes with a lite version of Android Oreo and is meant for low-end devices that run on 1GB of RAM or low.
Coming to the specifications, the Galaxy J2 Core features a 5.0-inch qHD display with a screen Resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The phone is powered by company’s in-house quad-core Exynos 7570 chipset.

The phone is backed by a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. On the camera front, you get an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 Aperture and LED flash, while for the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and it is backed by a 2600mAh battery, which the brand claims can deliver almost a day’s battery life. On the connectivity front, it features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0, GPS, Glonass, BeiDou and Dual-SIM support. The phone measures 143.4 x 72.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 154 grams.
UPDATE: The company has officially revealed the price of the latest smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core comes with a price tag of Rs 6,190 and it will be available from Samsung Mobile Shop and retail stores starting August 28, 2018.
