South Korean giant Samsung has postponed the Samsung Galaxy Fold launch event in Hong Kong and China that were scheduled to take place on 23rd and 24th April respectively. Now as per a new report, the company has postponed the media events in Hong Kong and Shanghai for its Galaxy Fold smartphone.
According to a report by SamMobile, the event has been postponed due to some issues with the venue. The report, however, does not talk about the launch event in the US. The US launch event is likely to go ahead as planned on April 26.
Not only the launch event, but Ice Universe says on Twitter has also revealed that multiple other activities have also been canceled relating to the Galaxy Fold launch. The news comes after reviewers in the US have recently confirmed that the inner display on their Galaxy Fold malfunctioned. Samsung later issued a statement saying that it would thoroughly check the affected devices.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Fold has recently been confirmed to coming in India soon. DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division has confirmed that an Indian launch will certainly happen. He also said that the phone would be manufactured in India, but will not use the ‘Made in India’ logo.
To recall, Samsung Galaxy Fold has two screens, a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED (21:9) cover display on the front and a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED tablet screen with 4.2:3 aspect ratio when the phone is unfolded. There is a total of six cameras on the phone including three on the back (when folded in phone mode), one in front (also in phone mode), and two inside (in tablet mode).
Primary setup includes a triple camera module at the back of the phone which combos a 12MP lens with a variable Aperture (with OIS), a 12MP telephoto lens (with OIS) and a 16MP ultra-wide angle camera. There’s a single 10MP selfie camera at the top of the cover display while there’s a dual camera 10MP + depth sensor setup at the top of the tablet display.
The Galaxy Fold runs on Samsung’s One UI on top of Android 9 Pie. It has a 7nm octa-core Processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. There are two batteries on the inside of the two foldable slabs which amount to a total of 4,380mAh.
