Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha is reportedly available in India for Rs 39,990. However, at the time of writing, the phone was not available in any e-retailer’s website and not even in Samsung’s own e-store.
As the price suggests, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a high end smartphone. It has a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED Display with high definition resolution. The phone is based on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and runs on the Exynos 5 Octa 5430 octa core chipset which is a combination of quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. To help the processor, there is 2 GB RAM. The Alpha has 32 GB ROM but has no expandable storage slot.
For imaging, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha offers 12 megapixel rear auto focus camera with CMOS sensor and an LED flash. There is a 2.1 megapixel camera in its front. This single SIM based smartphone has 4G connectivity, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0 port, and GPS along with GLONASS for navigation.
The 6.7 mm thick Samsung Galaxy Alpha weighs 115 grams along with its 1860 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 11 hours of 3G talktime. It has finger print scanner for added security as well.
