For a while now, there have been many rumours revolving around the 2017 lineup of the Samsung Galaxy A series. Although the company is yet to reveal the devices officially, latest rumours in the tech town suggest that Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) sometime in mid-January which was previously rumoured to be launched in December this year.
According to the leakster Rolan Quandt, the handsets would be launched in Western Europe in mid-January. However, there is no information about the availability of the new Galaxy A series in other parts of the world including India. The tipster further mentioned that the Galaxy A3 (2017) will be priced at 349 Euro ( approx. Rs 24,627), while the Galaxy A5 (2017) will come with a price tag of 449 Euro (approx. Rs 31,684). He also claimed that both the devices will be available in black, blue, gold and pink colour variants and also confirmed that the South Korean giant is unlikely to launch the Galaxy A7 (2017) in Europe.
Recently, both smartphones got the clearance by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) and WiFi Alliance (WFA), indicating possible launch in near future. The A series is also expected to see a complete design overhaul and it might feature glass body apart from reports suggesting that the next-gen A series smartphones will boast a USB-Type C port.
Earlier, we reported that the Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) were spotted on different listing websites. For the specifications, the Galaxy A3 (2017) is said to sport a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display, a 1.59GHz Octa-Core Samsung’s Exynos 7870 processor, ARM Mali-T830 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device is believed to offer a 12-megapixel autofocus rear camera that comes with face-detection and LED flashlight, whereas at the front, it will have an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. Lastly, the smartphone is expected to be powered by a 2550mAh battery and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Galaxy A5 (2017), on the other hand, is touted to come with a 5.2-inch Full HD display and will be powered by a 1.87 GHz Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 7880 processor. The smartphone could be backed by a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There would be a 13-megapixel primary camera, and a 3000 mAh battery. Sadly, similar to the A3 (2017) the Galaxy A5 (2017) will also run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is surprising as by then the latest Android Nougat would be about 5 months old.
