Samsung Galaxy A series 2020 roadmap leak promises big camera upgrades

A new roadmap for the Galaxy A-series has been leaked online revealing that the company is planning to finally upgrade the cameras of the future Galaxy A-series smartphones.

Samsung is reportedly working on revamping the Galaxy A series next year. A new roadmap for the Galaxy A-series has been leaked online revealing that the company is planning to finally upgrade the cameras of the future Galaxy A-series smartphones.

The roadmap has been leaked by a tipster known as Sudhanshu Ambhore and it gives information of every Galaxy A smartphone’s camera details including the Galaxy A21,Galaxy A31,Galaxy A41,Galaxy A51,Galaxy A61,Galaxy A71,Galaxy A81and Galaxy A91. To start with, the Galaxy A21 is reported to be backed by a triple-camera setup at the rear panel with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens along with an 8-megapixel lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The Galaxy A31 will be equipped with a triple-camera at the rear with 16-megapixel primary lens, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and 5-megapixel depth sensor. The Galaxy A41 is said to feature 24-megapixel primary lens along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The Galaxy A51 will feature a quad-camera setup with a combination of 32-megapixel primary lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x and 5-megapixel depth sensor. The Galaxy A61 will feature quad cameras at the rear with 48-megapixel primary sensor + 8-megapixel wide-angle lens + 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom + 5-megapixel depth sensor. The Galaxy A71 is said to feature four cameras with a 48-megapixel primary lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and Time of Flight (ToF) sensor.

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy A81 and Galaxy A91 are reported to be backed by Samsung’s latest 64 megapixels and 108 megapixels SOCELL respectively. The Galaxy A81 will employ a combination of 64MP primary + 16MP wide-angle lens + 12MP telephoto lens with 2x or 5x optical zoom + ToF sensor. The Galaxy A91 is said to feature 108-megapixel primary lens along with a 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x or 5x optical zoom and a ToF sensor.

Previously, Samsung trademarked the Galaxy A-series smartphone for 2020 release. A set of nine trademark applications have been filed by Samsung at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The document bears names of the upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphones including the Samsung A11, Samsung A21, Samsung A31, Samsung A41, Samsung A51, Samsung A61, Samsung A71 and Samsung A81.
