Samsung Galaxy A series 2017 now available for purchase ahead of official launch

While it was reported earlier that the smartphones will be available for purchase in Russia in early-January, we didn't get an official confirmation about the official launch date.

The 2017 Galaxy A series from Samsung which was announced earlier this month is now available for purchase ahead of an undisclosed launch date. The smartphones are selling in Russia from various online retailers at the price of cost RUB 22,990 (approx. Rs 26,400) for the Galaxy A3 (2017), RUB 27,990 (approx. Rs 32,000 ) for the Galaxy A5 (2017), and RUB 32,990 (Rs Rs 37,800) for the Galaxy A7 (2017).

While it was reported earlier that the smartphones will be available for purchase in Russia in early-January, we didn’t get an official confirmation about the official launch date. Also, we don’t really know when the 2017 Galaxy A series will make it to India, however, at the time of announcement, Samsung claimed that the smartphones will soon come to various Asian markets. Nevertheless, the new Galaxy A series comes with a metal body and 3D glass back which gives a premium look to all the three devices in the lineup. Further adding to the design, the smartphones will now offer IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing it to withstand the elements, including rain, sweat, sand and dust. Samsung claims that the smartphones come with longer battery life with company’s in-house Fast Charge technology. Other than this they are equipped with USB Type-C port, comes with an expandable storage up to 256GB and runs on 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

To start with, the Galaxy A7 (2017) comes with a 5.7-inch Full Super and is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the camera front, it sports a 16-megapixel rear and front cameras with f/1.9. The smartphone is powered by a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging technology and support connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C, and NFC.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) shares a lot of specifications with the A7 (2017) apart from its 5.2-inch full HD display and the 3,000mAh battery with fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A3 (2017) sports a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded. On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The device is powered by a 2,350mAh battery and offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C, dual-SIM and for connectivity.
