Samsung announces Galaxy A (2017) series with metal frame, water-resistance and enhanced camera

The Galaxy A series will be available in four colours including Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud and the company is expected to launch the devices in Malaysia on January 5th.

As expected, Samsung has finally announced its 2017 lineup of the Galaxy A series including Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017). Though the company has not revealed the prices of the devices yet, the 2017 A series smartphones will be available in Russia in early-January and will be expanded to global markets later. Further, the company is also expected to launch the devices in Malaysia on January 5th. The Galaxy A series will be available in four colours including Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud.
Galaxy A (2017) series
As reported earlier, the Galaxy A series comes with a metal body and 3D glass back which gives a premium look to the devices. For the first time on the Galaxy A series, the smartphones offer IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing it to withstand the elements, including rain, sweat, sand and dust. Samsung claims that the smartphones come with longer battery life with company’s in-house Fast Charge technology. Other than this they are equipped with USB Type-C port, comes with an expandable storage up to 256GB and runs on 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

To start with the Galaxy A7 (2017), the device comes with a 5.7-inch Full Super and is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the camera front, it sports a 16-megapixel rear and front cameras with f/1.9. The smartphone is powered by a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging technology and support connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C, and NFC.

Coming to the Galaxy A5 (2017), the smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging. Other than this, rest of the specifications are identical to Galaxy A7 (2017).

Lastly, the Galaxy A3 (2017) sports a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded. On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The device is powered by a 2,350mAh battery and measures 135.4 x 66.2 x 7.9mm. On the connectivity front, the device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C, dual-SIM and NFC.
