Salora, an Indian consumer electronics brand, has launched a new Dual SIM Android phone called PowerMaxx Z1. The phone uses a Cortex-A9 1GHz Dual Core Processor and runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The phones most notable feature is its battery, which at 3200mAh is almost double the size of other phones in this category. The large battery gives the phone 430 hours of claimed standby time, 22 hours of 3G talktime, 42 hours of playing music, 10 hours of playing video, 11 hours of 3G networking and 13 hours of WiFi usage.
Salora also claims that the battery uses a new generation material and cells which has more power and reduces energy wastage.
The phone despite having a large battery is on the slimmer site with 10.2 mm thickness. The smart phone’s surface shell is made of forging aluminum Alloy with a special fiber drawing technology.
Other features include 4.5″ IPS LCD (qHD) screen with a resolution of 960X 540 pixels, the display is made using ‘Zero Air Gap’ technology which should make the display more clear, colorful, fast and dust free as claimed. This technology uses High strength single layer toughened glass which makes it more firm, durable, anti fingerprint, anti scratch and ultra thin. Its reflection display technology can keep the display colorful as usual in sunshine.
Salora PowerMaxx runs on Android ICS 4.0 platform which Salora claims will be upgradable to Jelly Bean 4.1.
The phone gets 4GB Internal Memory and 512RAM (1GB would have made the phone all the more desirable) and external memory is expandable up to 32GB.
Salora has used signal process technology with a ‘Dual Mic Design’ which offers noise cancelation feature to cut ambient noise during calls.
The smartphone gets 1.3 mega Pixel front facing camera and 8.0 mega pixel auto focus rear facing camera which supports a resolution of 3264 X 2448 pixeI picture quality and 720p HD video recording. The camera also supports feature such as optical image stabilization, panorama view, multi shot and time lapse video, facial beautify, smile shutter and automatic ambient detection etc
In terms of claimed features this phone is probably the best in its category and we would certainly like to review it soon. The phone is slightly expensive compared to Spice Mi495, iBall Andi 4.5H and Karbonn A21 which all have similar features but clearly misses out on battery life.
Salora PowerMaxx will be available at online platforms like Flipkart, Infibeam, Snapdeal, Salzmart etc. The phone is priced at an MRP of Rs 15,999.
