Department of Telecom has concluded the 2014 2G Spectrum Auction. It had put up block of 46 MHz in the 900 MHz Frequency Band in three major circle – Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Whereas the 385 Mhz block was offered for the 1800 MHz frequency band in 22 circles across India.

The auction helped the government earn Rs 61,162.22 crore. However, now concerns are now being raised by the telecom analysts about the impending hike in mobile phone tariffs as operators will try to pass on some financial burdens to consumers. But with essential spectrum in their kitty, these telecom operators would be offering improved connectivity and services across their respective circles in times to come.
For easier understanding, we have classified the results as per the Telecom Operators. The winners of the 900 Mhz frequency band –
Bharti Airtel – Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai
Vodafone – Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai
Idea Cellular – Delhi
For the 1800 MHz frequency band winners that will offer the services in respective circles –
