Research in Motion is working on yet another variation of its BlackBerry Bold line up with model number 9790. It is based on its big brother Bold 9900 handset. With slightly smaller display, the Bold 9790 packs most features of the Bold 9900 like the touchscreen display and full QWERTY keypad. BGR got hands on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 evaluation unit and claims that the handset would be released sometime this year.
BlackBold 9790 seems to be sporting 2.4-inch to 2.6-inch display. Under the hood, this handset will run a 1.2 GHz Processor and will come with 8 GB internal storage. At the back, it will sport a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash for imaging. By default we presume this handset will run the new BlackBerry OS 7.
This BlackBerry Bold model will also house a NFC (Near-Field Communication) chip inside along with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Alongside the BlackBerry Bold 9900, this Bold 9790 appears to be a younger brother and mid-range handset. Most likely that this Bold 9700 is meant to rest with the current BlackBerry Curve 3G models.
There’s no details on the price of the handset but the availability is expected to be sometime next month or end of this year.
