Recently Reliance Jio rolled out its 4G services for its employees and is getting ready to launch its commercial LTE services for the general public. Meanwhile, today the Mukesh Ambani led company revealed its first 4G smartphone, the LYF Earth 1. A website, The Quint, released the unboxing video of the phone, revealing its specs and the features in the process.
As is shown in the video, the LYF Earth 1 has a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED Display offering a pixel density of 401 PPI. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. The handset has also plenty of storage space – 32 GB internal and a 64 GB micro SD card slot.
Besides, the LYF Earth 1 offers dual rear camera of 13 Megapixel and 2 megapixel resolution as well as an LED flash light. For selfies, the handset offers a 5 megapixel front camera. The dual SIM phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 operating system. The handset has a 3500 mAh Li-Po battery.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G, Micro USB port, WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM radio. It measures 154 x 76.6 x 7.25 mm and weighs 162.5 grams.
However, it is still not known when Reliance Jio will be launching this smartphone in India. Note that Reliance Jio is expected to launch four smartphones under the LYF brand, which will be named after the four elements – Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. The Earth 1 will be the first smartphone in the series and is placed under the premium segment.
