Reliance Jio, a few days back, had unveiled the latest JioPhone feature phone for the Indian consumers. It will be available for pre-booking from August 15 for Rs ZERO. However, one has to pay Rs 1,500 has a security deposit, which will be 100 percent refundable after three years. As of now, the phone is a single SIM phone but in the next few months, Jio is going to launch a dual SIM variant of the device as well.
Sources familiar with the development have said to The Mobile Indian, ” Somewhere around October Jio will launch a Dual SIm variant of JioPhone. In it, the first SIM slot will be locked for Jio SIM and the second one can be used with SIM from any other operator.”
It may be recalled, the recently unveiled JioPhone will be available for pre-booking from August 24 from MyJio App and physical retail stores. The company will provide free voice calls, unlimited data and Jio apps for Rs 153 per month with Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan plans to JioPhone customers. The device will also come with TV-Cable that will allow users to connect their JioPhone with TV ( not only Smart TVs but also CRT TVs) to watch live TV. The company has priced the TV pack for Rs 309 per month. Further, there two sachets, one with Rs 24 for two days and Rs 54 plan for a week. Users will enjoy the same benefits as the monthly recharge of Rs 153. The device sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display and it comes with SD card slot as well. It does not support touch interface instead it comes with an Alphanumeric keypad.

The JioPhone also comes with a voice assistant, which makes it easier to interact with the feature phone. Through the voice assistant, one can make calls, browse the internet and listen to music and more. It also supports the Hindi language for giving the voice command.
