According to company’s latest quarterly result, Jio has onboard more than 1.3 million subs/day in peak load as on December 31, 2016. Reliance Jio has recently reached 18.15 megabits per second (Mbps) download speed in December 2016, which is much higher than peak speed of 7.2Mbps registered in September 2016, as per TRAI MySpeed portal. However, the company has also stressed on the fact that it is still facing points of interconnection (POI) issue with other telecom operators.

“The resultant call failure rates continue to be of the order of 175 calls failing out of every 1,000 calls from Jio to Airtel network when the QoS regulations mandate that no more than 5 calls out of every 1,000 calls can fail. Indian customers are still being denied the benefits of superior voice technology on Jio’s state-of-the-art network,” the company said in a statement.

The statement further mentioned that the company has sold 2.8 million LYF devices and accessories during the quarter. The company is also reported to launch VoLTE-enabled feature phones priced at Rs 999 and Rs 1500. For manufacturing these feature phones, Reliance Jio is said to be working with Lava International and Chinese original equipment and initially these phones might come with the branding of both Lava and Reliance Jio. These feature phones are touted to come with keypad, front and rear-facing camera and will come running on operating system. On top of this, they are also likely to come with Jio’s network such as Jio Chat, Live TV and video on demand.
