Reliance Jio has started selling its Lyf phones with its own SIM cards enabled for regular consumers, which means that the operator is now close to launch its much anticipated LTE services. Last year, Reliance Jio allowed its employees to test its network.
The SIM cards come with three months of free unlimited data and 4,500 minutes of voice calls. As per a report of Economic Times, Jio’s SIMs are available in Reliance Digital stores and other large retail stores in major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru apart from smaller cities.
Reliance Jio has pan India BWA (4G) license. Initially, it got 4G spectrum in 2300 MHz Band but later it acquired 800 and 1800 MHz band spectrums. The Mukesh Ambani-led company is expected to start a price war among telecos. Infact, many telecos like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular are rolling out their 4G services quickly to gain the early mover advantage.
