Reliance Jio may withdraw Summer Surprise offer by midnight of April 7, 2017. Today, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had directed the company to withdraw the 3 months complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise which it had announced on March 31, 216.
Sources familiar with the development have said to The Mobile Indian, “TRAI had directed Jio to withdraw the Summer Surprise Offer by the end of the day today but the company has sought time to implement the directive and is still in discussion with TRAI to explain their side of the story behind the offer.” Sources further revealed, ” Reliance Jio has put a hold on all the campaigns promoting Summer Surprise Offer and in all likely hood will discontinue the offer tomorrow midnight.”

After getting the TRAI directive, Jio’s spokesperson had said in a statement, “Jio accepts this decision.Jio is in the process of fully complying with the regulator’s advice, and will be withdrawing the 3 months complimentary benefits of JIO SUMMER SURPRISE as soon as operationally feasible, over the next few days.”
Regarding the fate of customers who have availed the offer JioSummer Surprise offer statement said, ” All customers who have subscribed to JIO SUMMER SURPRISE offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer.”
So in short, all those Jio subscribers who have still not availed the offer, it is high time to get your Jio numbers recharged if you want to avail all the freebies given under the Sumer Special offer because until the time Jio officially discontinues the offer benefits would be extended to the subscribers who take up the offer.
According to this offer, Jio users who recharge their SIM with Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan), will get services for the initial 3 months on a complimentary basis. The paid tariff plan will be applied only in July, after the expiry of the complimentary service.
The operator has different plans to choose from, including Rs 149 plan under which Prime users will get 2GB of data while non-prime users will get 1GB. For Rs 499, Prime users will get 56GB of data while non-prime users will get only 5GB of data with a daily cap of 2GB data on the former.
Other plans include Rs 999 which will offer 60GB (12.5 GB for non-prime) of 4G data with no daily cap and a validity of 60 days. For Rs 1999 you get 125GB (30GB for non-prime) with a validity of 90 days (30 days for non-prime). For Rs 4999 you get 350 GB (100GB for non-prime) of 4G data with a validity of 180 days (30 days for non-prime). Lastly, for Rs 9999 you get 750GB of 4G data with a validity of 360 days or roughly 1 year. For non-prime members, this offer gives 200GB of 4G data with a validity of 30 days only.
Reliance Jio had commercially launched its service in September 2016 with a three-month promotional offer which provided free internet and calls. In December, Jio extended that offer by another three months, till March 2017, before starting to charge for its services from April onwards, which in practicality didn’t happen.
