Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has today announced its Redmi Go smartphone. However, the Redmi Go price and availability are not revealed at the moment.
The company has announced the phone via its official global Twitter account. The image shared by Xiaomi on Twitter indicates that Redmi Go will be offered in Black and Blue colours. As of now, there is no word on India price and launch of the handset.
As per thetweet by Xiaomi, Redmi Go sports a 5-inch HD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon Chipset under the hood. The phone comes with a 3,000mAh battery. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera in the smartphone. The image does not reveal anything for the operating system but the handset is expected to run Android Oreo (Go Edition).
Earlier, areport from German website WinFuture appeared revealing the device other specifications. The report revealed that the Redmi Go will include 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can further be expanded with a microSD card slot.
Furthermore, the Redmi Go will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. Connectivity options for the phone will include Dual-SIM support, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a micro-USB port. On the software front, the Redmi Go is said to be running on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). The report also revealed that the Redmi Go will be priced at EUR 80 (approx Rs. 6,500) and will go on sale in Europe beginning February.
