UPDATE: The company has now confirmed that Redmi 8 will be launched in India on October 9.
At thelaunch of Redmi 8A in India recently, the company teased the launch of Redmi 8 in India soon. Now a render of Redmi 8 has surfaced online which reveals the front and back side of the device.
Popular tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore hasleaked the render of the Redmi 8 on his Twitter account. The render shows the new Redmi phone will come with a waterdrop notched display. The back of the device shows that the phone will feature dual-camera setup. The back panel also features a fingerprint sensor and Redmi branding.
As per the render, the phone will come with speaker grille, a 3.5mm Headphone jack, microphone, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The phone will hava a chin at the front with a Redmi logo.
For the specifications, another tweet from the same tipster claims that the Redmi 8 will run Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top. The phone will come in four different colours – Ash, Blue, Green, and Red. The phone will feature a plastic body.
Earlier, Redmi 8 with model number M1908C3IC was spotted on TENAA certification website. As per the TENAA listing, the Redmi 8 will feature will have 6.26-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a Resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. The phone will be powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 chipset.
Redmi 8 will have a dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel as the primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with LED Flash. On the front, it will have an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi 8 smartphone will run on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top of it. It will have connectivity options like Dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and a micro-USB port. The phone will measure 156.3×75.4×9.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
It will three storage variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The phone will also come with an option to expand the storage of up to 512GB with microSD card. It will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and will get the juices from a powerful 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
