UPDATE: Redmi 8 will go on sale again at 12 P.M on Flipkart.
Redmi 8 was launched in India earlier this week. Now the device will be available for purchase in sale starting midnight today on Flipkart, mi.com and Mi Home stores at 12.00 A.M. The key features on Redmi 8 include a waterdrop-style display notch, dual rear camera setup and a 5,000mAh battery, among others.
Redmi 8 is priced at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB + 32GB and Rs 8,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variants, respectively. As an introductory offer, the 4GB variant will be available for Rs 7,999 for the first five million customers. The company won’t be selling the 3GB RAM variant until the offer is available. It comes in Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue colour options.
For the launch offers, there is 10 percent instant cashback for customers using an SBI card. There are also various no-cost EMI options and exchange discounts.
Redmi 8 features a 6.22-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. It runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top. The phone is backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W Fast charging support. It will be shipped with a 10W charger in the box.
Redmi 8 comes with a AI dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel primary Sony IMX 363 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, and Dual phase detection and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with LED Flash. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel AI selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size. The phone is protected with splash-proof nano-coating by P2i and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front.
The phone is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 Chipset coupled with upto 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone also comes with an option to expand the storage of up to 512GB with a microSD card. It also has face unlock tech and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include Dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type C port. The phone measures 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
