After announcing that it has sold 5 lakh Realme 3 units since its launch, Realme has made yet another announcement and it’s regarding a major software update. The company has now confirmed that it’ll be rolling out Android 9 Pie updates to all of its current smartphones in June 2019.
The news comes from the official Realme forum where the company posted its update schedule from April to June 2019. Further down the post, Realme revealed that the Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme C1 and Realme U1, all will be updated to Google’s latest Android 9 Pie operating system.
Not just that, all the aforementioned smartphones will also run the latest ColorOS 6.0 UI which was announced at the end of last year. ColorOS 6.0 takes inspiration from Android’s white themes and has a white backdrop over various sections with light coloured gradients from one end of the UI.
ColorOS 6.0 on Realme phones will also feature built-in AI to keep background App frozen instead of completely closing them in order to improve its memory management. The AI will also analyse a user’s app activity from the last two weeks to learn their usage habits and freeze the required apps that will be needed at later stages.

Realme also revealed that the Realme 1, Realme U1 and Realme 3 will receive the latest Android security update dated April 2019 later this month. In the month of May, it’ll be the Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1 which will be rolled out with Android security patches but with May 2019’s signatures.
Realme has noted that exact rollout dates have not yet been determined and since these will all be staged rollouts, it’ll take a few weeks to be loaded on to all the devices.
