Realme 5 series launching in India on August 20 on Flipkart

Realme 5 series will be featuring primary, ultra-wide, super macro, and portrait lens.

We exclusively reported that Realme will be launching Realme 5 series including Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in India on August 20. Now the same has been confirmed as Flipkart has started teasing the launch of Realme 5 series on the said date. The listing has also confirmed that Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will be available for purchase on Flipkart upon their launch in India.

The Flipkart listing has revealed several details about the upcoming Realme 5 series. The teaser reveals that the Realme 5 series will come with quad rear cameras. As per the teaser, the Realme 5 series will be featuring primary, ultra-wide, super macro, and portrait lens. The primary lens will be for low-light images with a large and pixel size, the ultra-wide-angle lens will be able to capture 119-degree field of view, Super for capturing 4cm closeup images and the fourth depth sensor for portrait shots.

The camera specifications and the pricing of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro are yet to be revealed by the company. Realme 5 and 5 Pro will be successors of the Realme 3 and 3 Pro which were launched in India earlier this year.

Notably, this time the company is skipping number 4 and jumping straight to 5 as the number 4 is considered an unlucky number in Chinese culture. Even OnePlus famously skipped 4 and straight up moved to 5.

The company is said to introduce Realme X Pro which will house the quad-camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary shooter. The phone is likely to be announced before Diwali in India, and not on 20th of this month.

Meanwhile, all future Realme smartphones will have quad-camera setup. This will include all upcoming smartphones under Realme X series, Realme Pro series and Realme series.
