Realme has started rolling out updates to its first phone – Realme 1 and Realme U1. The updates bring features from the latest ColorOS 6 including a dark mode, Google Digital Wellbeing, October 2019 Android security and more. Separately, the Realme 5 Pro is also expected to receive an update with new features, since the Chinese variant of the phone is now receiving dark mode.
The news of the update comes directly from Realme India CMO Francis Wang who announced on Twitter that the Realme 1 and Realme U1 smartphones are getting an update with dark mode. The company has also uploaded a detailed post on its community about Dark Mode On realme 1.
The update on the Realme 1 shifts the build number of the device to CPH1861EX_11_C.45. Realme 1 new gets a system-wide dark mode, Google Digital Wellbeing and October 2019 Android security patch. Other additions include a new realme laboratory section inside settings, notification panel data switcher, cloner support for more third-party apps, a manual lock function, Redesigned notification centre and optimised system interface.
The latest update on the Realme U1 features version RMX1831EX_11_C.15 of ColorOS 6.0 and brings all the features that are available for the Realme 1. These features include dark mode, Google Digital Wellbeing, October 2019 Android security, realme laboratory section inside settings, notification panel data switcher, cloner support for more third-party apps, a manual lock function, Redesigned notification centre and optimised system interface. Realme U1 additionally gets Partial scene camera effect optimisation inside the camera app.
To enable Dark Mode on Realme 1 and Realme U1, head over to Settings > realme Lab and tap on Dark Mode to slide the toggle to Green. The feature is supported on the lock screen, settings page, volume sliders and calendar app.
Separately, Piunikaweb reports that Realme 5 Pro will also receive an update to feature dark mode since the Chinese variant of the phone – Realme Q is receiving the same. The Realme Q update comes with October 2019 Android security, wide-angle video mode inside camera and optimisations in 4K and 1080P@60FPS video recording.
