Spice Mobile (S Mobility) has launched its second smartphone in Coolpad series. The phone gets a 4.5 inch display with qHD (960×540) resolution, 1.2 GHz quad core Processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt memory which is expandable to 32GB via SDcard.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system based smartphone has a 5 megapixel auto-focus rear camera but misses out on front facing camera, which is a big downside of this phone.
The Spice Coolpad mi 496 is priced at Rs 9,499 and is already available at online stores. For connectivity, it has GPRS, Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, and USB. Other features are A-GPS, 1700 mAh battery and FM radio.
Spice has also put in some software features like power saver and a private security application.
Private security App allows users to lock contacts and messages along with encrypting them and finally storing them in the inbuilt NQ Vault.
The Spice Coolpad Mi 496 will compete with the likes of Xolo Q700, Xolo Q800, Salora Powermaxx Z1, Karbonn Titanium S1 and Intex Aqua Wonder Quad Core. And most of these phones have more or less similar specifications but get additional front facing camera.
