Philips, which joined the smartphone race quite late, has now revved up the competition by launching an octa core handset. Named as Philips I908, the smartphone comes armed with superb features but its price has not been revealed.
As per the listing on Philips official page, the I908 has a 5 inch IPS display with full HD resolution and capacitive touch input. It runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has a powerful 1.7 Ghz octa core processor. There is 2 GB RAM in the phone which comes with 16 GB internal storage and a 32 GB micro SD card slot.
The Philips I908 has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It has a huge 3000 mAh battery that claims to offer 25 hours of talktime. This dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, WiFi, and GPS with A-GPS.
Octa core smartphones are not new to the market. Several Indian and MNC companies have launched their octa core CPU based devices in the market earlier. The first one in the list was Micromax Canvas Knight and Intex Aqua Octa towards the start of this year. Soon iBerry, Karbonn, Xolo, Gionee, etc had announced their octa core offerings.
So it would be interesting to see how Philips I908 would be priced as this would be the deciding factor.
