Many users were blown away yesterday when they were not able to use the Paytm App on their iOS devices due to some technical issue. The app was then pulled off from the Apple App Store following which the company has now admitted that its iOS app was buggy and has rolled out the update with critical bug fixes.
Consequently, several Paytm users took the social media by storm complaining about the service outage. Some of them were already facing several issues while using the app on their iPhones and iPads before it went down. Of various reported issues, one of the issue that multiple users reported was inability to pay through the app as it went hanging every time thereafter. Soon after, the system logged them out preventing them from further accessing their account. However, the company has said in a blog post that the problem persists to some of the iOS App users only, while the its”services are working fine for Android and Web”.
Seems like, Paytm, which is probably the biggest beneficiary of the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, is not able to keep up with the sudden spike of usages and downloads of the application. Recently, the company’s online portal was mired with congestion issue, stranding millions of users as they were not able to make any transactions. Nevertheless, the company has registered a steep rise in terms of transactions and number of users added. Just days after demonetization, Paytm saw 1000 per cent money added to its wallet and a growth of 435 percent in overall traffic. Further, the average transaction value increased four folds and the number of mobile app downloads increased by 300 per cent.
