The Nokia Drop application, which allows users to send pictures files and links to their Symbian powered Nokia devices without the use of any software or wires, has been integrated with the Ovi Store.
With the use of the Drop app, Nokia users can download various apps and other content from the Ovi store on to their phone using a computer. For this you do not need any Browser plug-in like the way you have to do with your BlackBerry devices or go through complicated authentication procedures.
Users can now make use of the Nokia Drop App to download wallpapers, themes, apps and other content directly from the Ovi Store on to their handsets over-the-air.
Nokia has also added a new functionality to the Nokia Ovi Store, making it possible for the users to download and install apps on their Symbian devices directly from the Ovi Store using a standard USB cable. Users can directly download and install applications on their devices through the computer.
Since the Nokia Drop application is still in the beta phase, it might not have all the features; users can also encounter some bugs during the usage, but it can be expected to have more features by the time it becomes a commercial product.
The application is available free of cost to registered members of Nokia Beta labs, but if you are not registered on Nokia Beta labs don’t worry as registration is open. Users can follow this link to download and install the application from their PC to their smartphones.
