Over 4 lakh units of Oppo Realme 1 claimed to be sold in 40 days of launch, confirmed to get Android P update

As the first product of this new brand, Realme 1 has consistently topped the Amazon Bestseller rankings in the past 2 months and has also been featured as the highest rated phone with a 4.4 rating on Amazon India.

Oppo Realme 1 was launched recently for the Indian market in two variants. Now the company has announced that over 4 lakh Realme 1 units were sold in just 40 days, with the 3+32GB variant being completely sold out. Realme 1 comes with a starting price of Rs 8,990 for the 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant, Rs 10,990 for 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant and a 6GB and 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 13,990. The Realme 1 comes in 3 colours, which are Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red.

The company has also said that the smartphone has received an overwhelming response from customers. As the first product of this new brand, Realme 1 has consistently topped the Amazon Bestseller rankings in the past 2 months and has also been featured as the highest rated phone with a 4.4 rating on Amazon India.

Speaking on the overwhelming response received by the brand, Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer of Realme, said, “The sales figures of Realme 1 resonate with the brand’s vision of addressing the real issues present in the smartphone market and provide ultimate user experience. The company has also promisedAndroid P update in future. The latest OS update includes:

  • Added built-in theme: diamond blue, diamond red, snow white
  • Optimized three-way application camera effects
  • Optimized background memory management
  • Enhanced facial unlock feature – The phone won’t unlock when the user’s eyes are shut
  • Improved System Stability

The Realme 1 smartphone features 6.0-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a screen of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 84.75 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6771 processor, which is none other than Helio P60. The phone features a 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot.

The smartphone comes loaded with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and bokeh effect. For the front, there will be an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling along with portrait mode. The front camera features and machine learning. The company claims the machine learning uses 296 recognition face points to get face information and automatically detect the skin tones, skin types, skin colours, age, gender, etc. The smartphone is backed by a 3410mAh battery and runs on 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.0 running on top of it. AI-backed battery management system to prevent excessive drain.

Further, the Oppo Realme features face unlock, though there is no fingerprint sensor. Further, on the connectivity front, the phone supports VoLTE, micro USB port, 4.2, FM Radio, WiFi, dedicated with microSD tray, and micro USB port.
