Oppo R15x is now official as the mid-range smartphone was revealed at the company’s website in China earlier today. The R15x comes featuring an on-display fingerprint scanner with a waterdrop notch at the top, dual rear cameras and mid-level specs and will be available for an asking price of 2,499 yuan (approx. Rs 26,400).
The Oppo device arrives with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a Resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. There’s a tiny waterdrop shaped notch at the top of the display which Oppo says brings the screen-to-body ratio to up to 91 percent. The display on the front will also host the in-display fingerprint sensor.
The R15x is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 mobile platform with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s ColourOS 5.2 on top.
For optics, the device will equip a dual camera setup at the back comprising of a 16MP camera with LED Flash and a secondary 2MP camera. There’s a front-facing 25MP selfie snapper which is enabled with AI features and scene detection to up to 800 scenarios.
Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS and GLONASS. The device is backed by a 3,600mAh battery.
The Oppo R15x will be available in Nebula and Glacier Silver colours for an asking price of 2,499 yuan (approx. Rs 26,400).
