Oppo confirms Reno Ace with 90Hz display will launch next month

Oppo VP Brian Shen confirmed during the company’s launch event of Reno 2 in China that Oppo will release yet another Reno-series smartphone in October.

Oppo announced the Reno 2, Reno 2Z and Reno 2F smartphones in India last month. The company has now disclosed that another Reno-series smartphone in the works and it will be called the Oppo Reno Ace. The Oppo Reno Ace has also been confirmed to debut on October 2019.

The news comes through Oppo VP Brian Shen who confirmed at the company’s launch event of Reno 2 in China that Oppo will release yet another Reno-series smartphone in October. The new phone will be labelled as the Oppo Reno Ace.

While Shen didn’t disclose details about the upcoming phone, the Oppo Reno Ace is expected to be the same device which was earlier spotted on TENAA with a 90Hz display and 50W Super VOOC fast charging. If this is true, the Reno Ace could also come with cellular support which is expected to be integrated inside the Snapdragon 855 plus chipset.

Realme, which used to be Oppo’s subsidiary, is also looking to launch a 90Hz smartphone of its own. Other upcoming phones expected to come with a 90Hz display include the Huawei Mate 30 Pro,OnePlus 7T andXiaomi Mi MIX 4.

As for the recently launched Oppo Reno 2, the smartphone features a 6.55-inch Dynamic with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a Shark Fin Rising camera. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 730G along with 8GB of and 256GB of internal storage.

The Oppo Reno 2 is loaded with a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, OIS, EIS along with a 13MP telephoto lens, an 8MP lens and a 2MP mono sensor. There’s a 16MP selfie camera on the front. The phone runs on 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 and backed by a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 support.
