OnePlus 6 to be launched in June with Snapdragon 845 SoC

The company is open to partnering with US carriers for the sales of its upcoming model.

Recently, a list of upcoming smartphones that will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset was leaked online. Out of them, one was OnePlus 6 and it mentioned the OnePlus 6 would be launching in June. Now in an interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the company’s next flagship smartphone would be powered by Snapdragon 845 and it will be arriving late in the second quarter of this year, which ends on June 30.

However, in his interview, Pete Lau did not reveal the name of the smartphone but it is highly expected it will be none other than OnePlus 6. Regarding the Snapdragon 845 chipset, he said that “there’s no other choice” in the interview.

Lau also did not confirm the existence of OnePlus 6T but looking at the current trend of last two years of the company launching the T variants of its smartphones, it is expected that there might be OnePlus 6T also at the end of 2018.

Furthermore, in his interview, Pete Lau also stated the company is open to partnering with US carriers for the sales of its upcoming model. He said, “If the right opportunity and right timing come along, we’ll be very happy to experiment”. However, he did not specifically confirm whether the OnePlus 6 will be releasing through U.S. carriers this year.
