OnePlus 5 beats Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Sony Xperia XZ Premium in GeekBench scores

The benchmark scores were first revealed by GSMArena and although they look authentic, we are not sure about the software on which the device was running.

OnePlus 5 have to be a top-notch flagship in order to built on the legacy and brand reputation created by OnePlus 3 and 3T last year and based on the rumours we are hitting up every day, OnePlus seems to be on the right track. After rumours about a dual-camera setup at the back, the benchmark scores of the upcoming flagship from OnePlus has been leaked online. The Snapdragon 835 running OnePlus 5 scored 1963 points in the single-core test and 6687 points in the multi-core test.

Interestingly the multi-core test result beats the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (both 835 and Exynos variant) while the single – core test results saw the OnePlus 5 beat Samsung Galaxy S8+ Snapdragon 835 whereas the Exynos variant edged above with 1978 points. Meanwhile, Sony XZ Premium which also runs on Snapdragon 835 scored 1943 and 5842 in single-core and multi-core test respectively. The benchmark scores were first revealed by GSMArena and although they look authentic, we are not sure about the software on which the device was running. A lot of times, the scores of the final software might differentiate from the one tested pre-final draft.

For the specifications, OnePlus 5 is likely to come with a 5.5-inch although we are not sure about the yet but some reports claim that the company might go for a Quad display this time. Apart from this, the device will pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 platform coupled with 8GB of and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

It will come with a bigger 3600 battery (Evan Blass leaked a 4000 mAh non-removable battery) and Nougat will be on board straight out of the box. For the camera, some rumours claim that OnePlus 5 might sport a 23-megapixel which is contrary to previous rumours who claimed that the device will sport a dual camera setup. Interestingly, similar to what we saw on OnePlus 3 and 3T, OnePlus is likely to go with a front-facing fingerprint scanner at the front. OnePlus is also expected to introduce the new Dash Charge 2.0.

Regarding the availability, a summer launch doesn’t necessarily mean next month (June). The official launch might happen sometime later than that say July or even August and we expect OnePlus to bring the OnePlus 5 soon after it is launched globally.
