OnePlus 5, 5T Oxygen OS update brings screen recorder and more

The new update brings new features to both the smartphones that were introduced with OnePlus 7 series.

OnePlus has started rolling out a new update to this older OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. The new update brings new features to both the smartphones that were introduced with OnePlus 7 series.

The company has started rolling out Oxygen 9.0.7 update to both the smartphones. The official changed reveals that the company had finally added Screen Recorder feature to both the phones. Users can simply record the screen on their OnePlus 5/5T smartphones by simply going to notification panel.

The update also brings Fnatic mode. The mode was introduced with OnePlus 7 Pro and it basically enhances the gaming performance by activating Do Not Disturb mode for all notifications and calls. It also enhances process regulator, and make network enhancements for an immersive gaming experience.

The new update also brings June security patch to both the devices. It also adds Quick Reply in landscape mode. This opens the in split-screen with floating keyboard. The update also fixed issue with Speed Dial. Lastly, it brings bug fixes and other system improvements.

As usual, this is a staged rolled and the Oxygen OS 9.0.7 will each to a limited number of users first and then a broader roll out will follow. Users can check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Here is the complete changelog of the update:

Meanwhile, OnePlus rolled out the last Open Beta 35 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 33 for OnePlus 5T. However, OnePlus is planning to roll out Android Q to OnePlus 5 and 5T, but the future updates will be done through closed betas. Coming to the changelog, the update brings improved functioning of weather application. The update improves scrolling experience for switching between pages along with weather cards for multiple cities can now be rearranged or deleted by a simple and hold function.
