After OnePlus discontinued OnePlus 3 in U.S. and Europe, a lot of eyebrows were raised as to whether the company will support the device in terms of software updates? Answering to the queries, OnePlus did confirm that the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T both will get timely updates. Further, the company has now confirmed that OnePlus 3T will also get Android 7.0 Nougat update in December alongside OnePlus 3.
As claimed by the company before, OnePlus thinks of the two devices as two versions of the same device. So notwithstanding the possibility of some bugs in any of the two, both the phones are likely to get the stable Nougat update at the same time next month. However, we don’t know if OnePlus will release a beta community build for OnePlus 3T as well.
Talking about the specifications and changes in the new OnePlus 3T, not a lot has changed from OnePlus 3 with the same 5.5 inch 1080 x 1920 Optic-AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Things which has changed is the new Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz coupled with the same Adreno 530 GPU. The front camera has seen a huge upgrade with double the resolution this time of 16 megapixel Samsung sensor. Battery has also seen an improvement with a jump from 3000 mAh in OnePlus 3 to 3400 mAh in OnePlus 3T. Also, the Graphite color is gone and is replaced by a new Gunmetal variant apart from the Soft Gold variant. Lastly, the camera lens at the back has got sapphire glass protection now.
